It all began...October 2015.

Discussions about a trip to Cuba began whilst Suzie (that's Aunty Sue) and I were on our Ecuador tour.

Anyway like sands through the hourglass, time came and went, I had a 50th birthday year to celebrate which included a trip to New York and the US for 3 weeks. Just prior to departure Suzie mentioned the possibility of Cuba in 2016, with so much going on, she suggested I think about it and chat after returning from the US.

As it turns out, the opportunity to see Cuba before it really re-opens ties with the US was too good to pass up. So with a 'good to go' answer Suzie was all over the planning and booking, with Costa Rica added to the itinerary as well.

Suzie sourced tour companies for small groups tours of both countries and even rounded up some other travelling companions, some from her previous tours and one of her dog walking friends. There are 5 of us in all.

We have all met once and time is ticking away quite quickly.

Flights to the US were booked early, then we awaited Keith's return from Cuba, so he could suss out the flights from US to Cuba and beyond. Keith has done an awesome job with many flights arranged to get us from LA to Cancun, Cancun to Havana, Havana to San Jose and then a several leg trip back to the US via Panama, Houston and arriving in Vegas to finish the trip.

We have a day or two in Cancun, Mexico, before heading to Cuba for a 10 day tour, then onto San Jose in Costa Rica for an 8 day tour, before heading back to Vegas and the Grand Canyon.

Within just on a month till departure, thought I'd make this start and need to get head around all the details now - medications, packing, reading, organising things at home etc etc.

So till we are ready to roll, that will be about it.
